Moldovan Customs Service collects over 692 million lei in last week

Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Customs Service collected over 692 million lei (about 34.6 million euros) to the state budget on 11-17 March this year. This represents a meeting of the control figure for the concerned period at the level of 104 per cent.
On this period, private people imported assets the value of which in customs exceeds the non-taxable limit, with payments worth over 24 million lei collected, accounting for 3.5 per cent of the overall sum. The money collected from tax payers is transferred directly to the state budget and is redistributed for salaries, development of infrastructure, social projects, etc.
Also in the last week, 12,665 customs declarations were processed and the flow of transport means stood at 68,311 crossings. The most transited customs checkpoints stay Leuseni and Sculeni, with 17,482 and, respectively, 12,984 crossings.
Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 6.85 billion lei to the state budget, which represents the meeting of the control figure of 112.5 per cent.
