Forty five influenza cases confirmed in Moldova in last week

Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/ - Forty five cases of seasonal influenza were recorded in the last week, which is by 15.4 percent more against the week before.

According to the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), 53 samples were investigated at the institution’s laboratories in terms of presence of flu, non-flu viruses and SARS-CoV-2.

At the same time, last week, the morbidity through the acute infections of upper respiratory ways (IACRS) was by 3.7 per cent higher against the week before. In all, 6,306 IACR cases were registered, mostly in children (61.6 per cent).

Also, ANSP established 100 COVID-19 cases, of which 23 in the Transnistrian region and 15 of them are in children. Also, six cases of death triggered by the COVID-19 infection were recorded.

As many 1,646 influenza cases, 180,925 IACR cases and 10,714 cases of acute severe respiratory infections have been registered since the beginning of the cold season.
