Moldovan PM participates in Conference of Presidents of Europe's Region of Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie

Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/ - Dozens of MPs from about 20 European countries have brought together at the Conference of the Presidents of the Europe’s Region of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF), organized by Moldova’s parliament. Attending the event, Prime Minister Dorin Recean stressed that the Francophonie represented a space of solidarity and cooperation, the unity of which becomes even more important, in the context of the war unleashed by Russia in Ukraine, the government’s communication department has reported.
The PM referred to the Moldovan authorities’ efforts to ensure the peace and security in Moldova, emphasizing, at the same time, the reforms underway for creating the welfare of the citizens from all over the country. According to the prime minister, the government puts emphasis on the economic development, modernization of the infrastructure and logistic chains.
„We continue to edify a safe business environment for attracting foreign investments, in diverse fields, which will contribute including to the reconstruction of Ukraine. At the same time, we stay firmly involved in the achievement of our strategic goal – integration into the European Union,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.
The agenda of the Conference of the Presidents of the Europe’s Region of APF included the presentation of the report on the present stage and the presence of the Francophonie in Moldova. At the same time, the Conference was preceded by a seminar on the consolidation of the capacities of the lawmakers in the fight against the misinformation and fake news. The discussions were focused on the phenomenon of misinformation in the francophone area, the case of Moldova, as well as the effects of the fake news on the parliamentary activity.
