Moldovan deputy PM has meeting with European commissioner for justice

Chisinau, 19 March /MOLDPRES/ - The ambitious agenda of reforms assumed by the government and the latest developments in the process of Moldova’s accession to EU have been the main subjects of a discussion between Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders, the government’s communication department reported.
At the meeting, Deputy PM Gherasimov said that the key priority stayed the justice reform, as instrument of consolidation and work of the rule of law state, as guarantee of the development of the business environment from Moldova and as basis of a democratic and fair society.
„We know that the pace of Moldova’s European integration way depends on the speed and especially on the quality with which we will carry out the reforms in this strategic sector and we are resolute to fulfill our commitments. As a proof, I highlighted the degree of implementation of the last three recommendations of the European Commission,’’ Cristina Gherasimov said.
Also, the Moldovan official reaffirmed the determination of the governmental team to modernize Moldova and to adjust its legislation to the European standards.
