Moldovan parliament speaker discusses with counterparts from Ukraine, Slovenia, Hungary

Vienna, 20 March /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has discussed with his counterparts from Ukraine, Slovenia and Hungary. The discussions took place in Vienna, in the context of the Conference of Parliament Speakers of the states of the European Union Strategy for Danube Region.
The main subjects tackled regarded the cooperation between the countries, the fulfilment of the commitments of Moldova’s European integration, the parliamentary agenda, the latest topical events and the security situation in the region.
„The cooperation from last two-three years between Moldova and Ukraine is the best example for the countries from the European Union. Together, we proved that two neighbour countries can unite for a peace project – the one which the European Union can provide,’’ Igor Grosu said at the meeting of Chairman of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament) Ruslan Stefanchuk. The Moldovan parliament speaker reiterated Moldova’s support for the Ukrainian people and voiced confidence that, along with our friends, we would participate in Ukraine’s reconstruction.
At a meeting with President of the National Assembly of Slovenia Urška Klakočar Zupančič, and Deputy President of the National Assembly of Hungary István Jakab, the Moldovan parliament speaker discussed the subject on the fulfilment of the commitments in the context of Moldova’s European integration. ‘’We want to boost the dialogue on the parliamentary dimension with Hungary and Slovenia, especially in the context of the exercise on the evaluation of the European legislation, including in relation with the national one. We are also interested in the development of the economic relations through the increase of commercial exchanges and attraction of investments,’’ Igor Grosu said.
