Rita Lefter-Simașco nominated member of Moldova's Central Electoral Commission

Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/ - Rita Lefter-Simașco today was nominated to the office of member of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC). The parliament voted a draft decision to this effect.
Rita Lefter-Simașco has degree in law and a diploma of master in the same field. She worked at the general department for economy, reforms and patrimonial relations and the general department for economy, trade and tourism of the Chisinau Municipal Council. As of September 2021, Rita Lefter-Simașco has worked at the parliament as adviser and head of office of the president of the Faction of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS).
The candidacy of Rita Lefter-Simașco was put forward by the PAS faction, after Ludmila Lupasco had resigned from the position of CEC member.
The Central Electoral Commission is a collegial body, made up of nine members. One member is nominated by Moldova’s president and eight – by the parliament, by majority vote.
