Moldovan parliament speaker to pay official visit to Riga, to meet Latvia's leadership

Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu will pay an official visit to Latvia on 25-26 March 2024, at an invitation by his counterpart from Riga. The parliament speaker will meet Latvia’s leadership – President Edgars Rinkēvičs, Speaker of the Saeima (parliament) Daiga Mieriņa and Prime Minister Evika Siliņa. In Riga, the two parliament speakers, Igor Grosu, and Daiga Mieriņa, will hold a news conference.
The visit’s agenda includes also discussions with the presidents of the parliamentary committees on European affairs and on foreign affairs, with representatives of the Information Technology Security Incident Response Institution from Latvia, as well as the participation in a ceremony of laying flowers at the Freedom Monument from Riga. Traditionally, the Moldovan parliament speaker will meet Moldovan citizens who live, study or work in Latvia.
The delegation due to accompany the parliament speaker in Riga is made up of lawmakers: the head of the group of friendship with Latvia, Alina Dandara and a member of the commission for foreign policy and European integration, Mihail Druta.
