Another 30 thousand vulnerable families to benefit from vouchers for LED bulbs

Chisinau, March 26. /MOLDPRES/- Another 30 thousand vulnerable families will benefit from free vouchers for purchasing LED bulbs. They will be granted after a new session was launched today within the Rabla for household appliances program.
Vouchers worth 500 lei for the purchase of economic light bulbs will be distributed to consumers registered in compensatii.gov.md system and whose energy vulnerability was very high.
This is the fourth session of awarding vouchers for LED bulbs. The Rabla for household appliances program is managed by UNDP Moldova in collaboration with the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED), financially supported by the European Union.
In previous sessions of the program, 32,846 vouchers for the purchase of LED bulbs and large electrical equipment have already been distributed. Thus, in total, vulnerable families purchased 5,044 large household appliances and almost 222,416 LED light bulbs with the help of vouchers.
With a total budget estimated at 5.8 million dollars, the program offers financial support as vouchers of up to 80% of the cost of a refrigerator, electric stove or washing machine. Beneficiaries will contribute 20% of the value of the equipment. In addition, to benefit from the voucher, the beneficiary must hand in a used electrical appliance of the same type.
