CNA officers detected 511 offences last year

Chisinau, March 26. /MOLDPRES/- In 2023, CNA officers detected 511 offences, 429 of them related to corruption cases. The data are included in the report of the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) for 2023 presented to the parliamentary commission for national security, defense and public order.
According to the document, out of total number of offenses, 12 are particularly serious, 357 – serious, and 142 – less serious or light. The most crimes detected - 115, were committed within commercial enterprises, 57 within the National Food Safety Agency, 47 within local public authorities, 43 within internal affairs bodies.
During 2023, the criminal prosecution officers of the CNA managed 1100 criminal cases. 405 were arrears from the previous period, 416 were initiated by criminal investigation officers, and 279 came from other competent bodies. Also, last year, 273 criminal cases were completed, and 164 of them were sent to court.
CNA head Alexandr Pînzari presented information about the activity of the Agency for Recovery of Criminal Assets (ARBI). Seizures were applied on 1048 goods, which have a total value of over 1.8 billion lei. 25 of them, whose value exceeds 1.4 billion lei, are abroad. In the criminal case "bank fraud", the Spanish authorities have confirmed that assets with a value of 1.13 billion lei have been seized.
According to the legislation, the CNA report is to be presented in the plenary session of the Parliament.
