Moldovan, French officials approach cooperation, reforms

Chisinau, March 28. /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov had a meeting with Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister Delegate for Europe within the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. The officials discussed the recent developments in the European path of the Republic of Moldova and the steps the authorities will take in the coming months, the government's communication department has reported.
Gherasimov said that the government is counting on adopting the negotiation framework as quickly as possible and organizing the first intergovernmental conference, which would officially mark the opening of the accession negotiations.
Also, Gerasimov thanked for the significant support given to our country by France in recent years, both on the path of European integration and through modernization projects in the economic, energy, infrastructure and defense fields.
"We are grateful for the unprecedented openness we are enjoying in Paris. We will work to use this friendship and further deepen the bilateral dialogue," Gerasimov said.
