Moldovan state to support Dairy Farmers Association in development strategies of sector

Chisinau, April 6 /MOLDPRES/- General Assembly of the Dairy Farmers' Association was held yesterday. Business, authorities and members of the academic community approached ideas and strategies for the development of the sector.
Attending the event, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea mentioned the need for innovation and adaptation of agricultural and zootechnical practices to improve production and efficiency on farms.
The official highlighted progress in the dairy farming sector.
In addition to subsidies from the state budget, cow farms also have access to grants from the World Bank, starting this year. This enables farmers to modernise and expand their livestock holdings. The amount of financial support offered to the livestock sector is $21 million. The maximum value of a grant is $1 million, but no more than 50% of the eligible investment. Applications must be submitted to the territorial directorates of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture by 17 May 2024.
Over 200 farms specialising in dairy cattle farming operate in the Republic of Moldova.
