Moldovan parliament adopted new measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Chisinau, April 11 /MOLDPRES/- MPs today adopted new measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The bill was set up by the Environment Ministry. According to the author, the implementation of the provisions will contribute to the implementation of actions and measures to enable the achievement of the 2050 climate neutrality.
Other provisions of the draft concern the monitoring, reporting and verification of greenhouse gas emissions.
The draft also sees provisions on the conduct of state control in this area, liability for infringements of the legislation and the powers of the various authorities. At Government level, the National Commission on Climate Change will be established as an inter-institutional body with the status of coordinating and approving climate change policies and public capital investment projects in the context of climate change mitigation and adaptation and disaster risk management.
