Moldovan, Lithuanian officials approach cooperation

Chisinau, April 11 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova's progress in joining the European Union, as well as topical issues on the bilateral cooperation agenda were discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, the government's communication department has reported.
The official appreciated the cooperation at parliamentary level between the two countries and the support offered by the Lithuanian side in key sectors for the modernization of our country. "Lithuania is a faithful supporter of Moldova's process of reform and European integration, and our cooperation is growing closer in various areas, such as economy and security, including information technology," Recean said.
The officials spoke about Lithuania's experience in strengthening the country's energy independence, focusing on the development of green and renewable energy. They also discussed opportunities to boost economic cooperation and the interest of Lithuanian companies to invest in Moldova.
