Moldovan foreign minister meets PACE president

Chisinau, April 15 /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi met with President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Theodoros Rousopoulos.

The officials approached internal political developments in Moldova, the dynamics of the regional situation, as well as efforts to strengthen democratic institutions in our country. They pointed out the importance of constant dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the Council of Europe, including parliamentary forum during current period of challenges to democratic security and political stability in Europe.

"The PACE President welcomed the Republic of Moldova's constant efforts to implement the Council of Europe's recommendations to strengthen democratic processes in the country for the benefit of all citizens.

In this context, I reiterated Moldova's desire to move to the post-monitoring stage, expressing the authorities' commitment to move forward firmly in the process of reforms, strengthening democratic institutions and the rule of law in the Republic of Moldova", Popsoi said.
