Moldovan government approved actions to reduce cancer mortality, support cancer patients

Chisinau, April 24 /MOLDPRES/- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the Action Plan for 2024-2025 on the implementation of the National Cancer Control Programme for 2016-2025. The actions included in the document are aimed at reducing cancer mortality by 7% by 2025 and improving the quality of life of diagnosed patients.
The programme sees that by 2025 the incidence of several types of cancer will be reduced by 10% and the early detection rate of the disease will increase by 25%. Another goal is to ensure that at least 80% of cancer patients, including refugees and migrants, have access to quality diagnostic, treatment and continuing care services.
Palliative and rehabilitation services for cancer patients will also be developed. At the same time, the functioning of the National Cancer Registry will be ensured and medical staff will be trained in the areas of diagnosis and treatment of cancer diseases.
