Advanced e-signature to be available from mobile phone thanks to EVOSign service

Chisinau, April 24 /MOLDPRES/- A new type of electronic signature will be accessible from a mobile phone, following the development of EVOSign service. Government has approved a decision to this effect.

EVOSign service will increase the digital interaction of the private sector with the public sector, facilitate the authentication and access process within the state information systems and reduce the time required to provide public services.

The authentication and signature tool will be launched in the form of an advanced electronic signature, will allow identification of the signatory and will be usable in most dealings with the state.

The EVOSign service will also implement remote identification methods, thus increasing access to digital services for all Moldovan citizens, including those abroad. "Let's also take care of the experience of users in the diaspora, so that it is easy for them to access public services," said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

According to statistics for 2023, around 250 thousand people have qualified electronic signatures and digital identities, which is less than 10% of Moldova's adult population.
