Victims of Chernobyl disaster commemorated at Parliament

Chisinau, April 26 /MOLDPRES/ - Speaker Igor Grosu expressed gratitude at today's plenary session to more than 3,000 Moldovans who participated in the liquidation of the radioactive hazard, many of whom were left with various disabilities or died too early.
"A devastating catastrophe in which thousands of people died, with hundreds of thousands more severely affected. We must do everything possible to ensure that such events never happen again, that people live in peace and safety," said Grosu.
Today we mark the 38th anniversary of the tragic accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
