Moldovan electoral body has new secretary

Chisinau, April 29 /MOLDPRES/ - Dana Munteanu was elected today as secretary of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) by secret ballot of the commission members.

Dana Munteanu was appointed as a member of the CEC in 2022. She started her work in the Central Electoral Commission in 2012. From 2016 to 2022 she was head of the CEC's Election Management Department.

The position of secretary of the Commission became vacant following the resignation request submitted by Alexandr Berlinschii. On 12 April this year, Parliament took note of his application.

According to the Electoral Code, the election of the Commission's governing bodies shall take place no later than 15 days after the date of entry into force of the Parliament's decision on the appointment or vacancy of the CEC member, in this case the Secretary of the Commission.
