President congratulated Moldovan athletes successful at international competitions

Chisinau, April 30 /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu congratulated champion Daria Kozorez, the first woman in the history of our country to win a gold medal in women's boxing. Daria, a young Moldovan sportswoman of Ukrainian origin, won in the +81 kg weight category, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state also congratulated the other winners of the European Boxing Championships, who returned home today with three medals from the competition in Belgrade, Serbia.
Alexandru Paraschiv won the silver medal in the up to 63.5 kg weight category and Vasile Cebotari won the bronze medal in the up to 71 kg weight category.
The President noted that over the past two years, the Government has improved training conditions for the country's Olympic team and doubled scholarships for top athletes. Fourteen sports venues have been built and 133 sports halls and fields renovated. The head of state said "this will help us to raise young champions and promote an active lifestyle to keep the population healthy".
"Dear athletes, you are an inspiration to us all. We are proud of you and wish you good luck in your next competitions!", she said.
