DOC More teachers could be awarded at Teacher of the Year contest

Chisinau, May 2 /MOLDPRES/- Number of teachers due to be awarded at Teacher of the Year contest has been increased from 3 to 12. The value of the prizes will vary between 15 thousand lei and 50 thousand lei. The decision was published in the Official Journal today.

According to the new provisions of the Regulations, in the Teacher of the Year category, first, second and third prizes will be awarded to the winners in each of the four subject areas: Language and Communication, Mathematics and Science, Social and Humanities Education, Arts, Technologies and Sport. So far, only three prizes have been awarded in this category, with no strict demarcation between curriculum areas.

The contest has been organised since 2006 aimed at encouraging excellence among teachers and enhancing the prestige of the teaching profession.
