Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has visited a peasant farm from the Gura Bacului village, central Anenii Noi district. The business belongs to Cecoi family and is specialized in the production of field vegetables on an area of about 67 hectares, the government’s communication department reported.

The vegetable growers grow carrots, onions, potatoes and beet. Entrepreneur Aurelia Cecoi started developing the peasant farm in 2017, when she gave up the accounting activity and got more involved in the family business.

The entrepreneur made a tour to the farm and the section of packing vegetables. It is endowed with modern equipment, including as a result of the accessing of development funds provided by the state and partners of Moldova. The PM also visited the fields sowed with beet and carrots, where an advanced irrigation system was set, which contributes to the getting of qualitative harvests.

So far, the business has benefited from resources through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) and now the owners are set to access funds within the 373 governmental programme on investments’ stimulation. ‘’Year after year, we invest in agricultural technology and we are confident that successful businesses can be developed in our country as well. The most complicated process was the fields’ irrigation. Yet, now we are open to guide also the others, to share our experience,’’ Aurelia Cecoi said.

PM Dorin Recean appreciated the farmers’ business approach and assured them that the government would encourage, in continuation, the sector’s development. ‘’I know that the agriculture implies more cooperation with the nature; yet, at present, the agriculture does not mean only land, but also advanced technology for its tilling, the packing of products, in order to be competitive on market,’’ the prime minister said.

The vegetables produced are distributed in the networks of shops from all over Moldova, are sold for processing or commercialized on the local market.
