Over 14,000 people call ambulance in Moldova in last week

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Emergency Medical Assistance Service  was called for 14,801 patients in the last week.  

According to the Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance National Centre (CNAMUP), during the week before, the aforementioned Service was called for the following pathologies: 3,925 cardiovascular emergencies, of which 59 with acute coronary syndrome; followed by 2,080 neurological pathologies, of which 249 cerebral vascular accidents; 1,721 respiratory diseases and 1,366 injuries.  

Ion this period, the intervention of ambulance was demanded in 51 traffic accidents on Moldova’s roads, in the wake of which 57 people were injured, of whom 50 adults and seven minors.    

In the last week, the joint controller’s office of CNAMUP received 67 calls for reasons of emergencies triggered by physical, chemical and environmental agents, of which 43 cases – bites of animals/stings by insects and 21 combustions. At the same time, the ambulance’s intervention was demanded for 45 people with toxic emergencies, including 17 intoxications with medicines, 9 with alcohol and 6 with carbon monoxide and dioxide.
