DOC Moldova to have Public Road Register

Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/- Road infrastructure in our country will be monitored more efficiently, thanks to a profile information system. The concept of the new information system - Public Road Register was published in the Official Journal today.

The information record of public roads will allow more accurate monitoring of the condition of each route and identification of specific maintenance needs.

Register data will also be used by other state information systems and resources, including for determining optimal routes for issuing special transport permits. The Register will be integrated with other relevant systems such as public transport, national geographic and emergency systems.

The resources required for the development of the information system are estimated at 6 million lei.

According to statistics, over 700 kilometres of roads have been either rehabilitated or built in the last two years.
