Moldova ratifies agreement with EU on participation in Digital Europe Programme

Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will benefit from grants for the implementation of projects in the digitalization sector. The parliament today ratified the Agreement between Moldova and the European Union on Moldova’s participation in the Digital Europe Programme.

The programme is implemented on the period 2021-2027 and has an overall budget of 7.6 billion euros. The Digital Europe is a new EU’s financing programme, focused on the digitalization of enterprises, citizens and public administration institutions. Thus, the legal entities from Moldova, international organizations and private people will be able to access grants for the implementation of projects in the digitalization sector.

More exactly, eligible are projects from such sectors as high performance calculation, artificial intelligence, advanced digital skills, as well as the optimal implementation and use of the digital capacities and the interoperability.

The agreement between Moldova and the European Union on the country’s participation in the Digital Europe Programme was signed in Brussels on 19 February 2024.
