Virginia Moraru new member of commission for external evaluation of prosecutors in Moldova

Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/ - Virginia Moraru has been appointed member of the Commission for external evaluation of prosecutors. The parliament approved a decision to this end today with the votes of 63 MPs.
The candidate was put forward by the faction of the Action and Solidarity Party.
Virginia Moraru has degree in law and has diploma of Master of Law. So far, Virginia Moraru has held the office of senior legal adviser at the Secretariat of the Commission for evaluation of prosecutors. Also, during July 2022 – July 2023, she held the position of senior legal analyst at the Secretariat of the Pre-Vetting Commission. Moraru has earlier been employee of the National Anticorruption Centre and university lecturer.
The commission for external evaluation of prosecutors is made up of six members, appointed with the votes of three fifths of the number of MPs elected. Three candidates are put forward by the development partners and the rest – by the parliamentary factions, with the observance of the proportional representation of the majority and the opposition.
The draft decision enters into force on the date of its adoption.
