Moldovan president comes up with urge to Moldovan citizens from Diaspora

Chisinau, 4 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu urges the Moldovans from the Diaspora to preliminarily register on the website www.inregistrare.cec.md for the elections due on 20 October 2024.  

The head of state specifies that the registration is important for two principal reasons: it helps in the process of setting up of polling stations, so that they are opened where needed, where a large number of Moldovans register. The president said the registration was compulsory for the Moldovans who live in the USA, Canada, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland, who want to express their vote by correspondence, as alternative way of voting abroad, with the use of postal services.   

„Many Moldovans will vote where they live, outside Moldova. If you register beforehand, the Central Electoral Commission will know that you are going to vote abroad and not in the native village and will be able to open polling stations closer to you,’’ President Maia Sandu added.
