Approved by government: Eternity Memorial Complex transferred to Chisinau municipality property

Chisinau, July 3 /MOLDPRES/- Eternity Memorial Complex was transferred from state property to Chisinau municipality. The government took the decision today.

According to the draft approved by the government, the Defense Ministry jointly with the Chisinau Municipal Council will set up a commission and ensure the transfer of Eternity Memorial Complex in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on manner of transfer of public property.

"According to the Law protecting monuments, the Eternity Memorial Complex has the status of a monument, and under these circumstances, the management and maintenance of monuments exceed the legal powers of the Ministry of Defense," the draft's information note says.

The decision enters into force upon the publication in the Official Journal of Moldova.
