Moldovan president meets PACE co-rapporteurs

Chisinau, July 3 /MOLDPRES/- Today President Maia Sandu met with PACE co-rapporteurs of the monitoring committee Pierre-Alain Fridez and Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica.

The agenda of the talks focused on strengthening democratic institutions in the country and the rule of law. The head of state emphasized the importance of ensuring a transparent electoral process free from external influence.

Maia Sandu also praised the support provided by the Council of Europe through the Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova 2021-2024 and the cooperation in several important areas.

The president said that the authorities will continue the reforms initiated in the field of justice and the fight against corruption. The official also reaffirmed her country's commitment to moving resolutely forward in joining the European Union.
