USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu" to cooperate with several hospitals of France

Chisinau, July 11 /MOLDPRES/- Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy will collaborate with several hospitals of France. Recently, a delegation of Adolphe de Rothschild Foundation Hospital and Gustave Roussy hospital visited the university.

According to the press service of the USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu", the delegation included: Fabrice Verriele, deputy director general of Adolphe de Rothschild Foundation Hospital, Georg Dorfmuller, head of the Pediatric Neurosurgery Department, Emmanuel Raffo, deputy head of the Pediatric Neurosurgery Service, Olivier Martz, project manager for international development, and Rémi Thiolet, head of international affairs at Gustave Roussy Hospital.

Health Minister Ala Nemerenco also attended the meeting, expressing gratitude to the French side for the intention of cooperation in health, especially given the complicated geopolitical situation in the region. She pointed out that the Republic of Moldova is aiming to align with the highest international standards and practices in medicine in the context of EU accession. The health official noted that it is very important "to create conditions for the implementation of the latest scientific achievements and the development of practical skills of doctors in the field of neurosurgery, including visits to French hospitals, teleconferences, training courses at the university and postgraduate level, in order to improve the quality of healthcare services in our country".

The French delegation members briefly presented the hospitals and announced their intention to collaborate by concluding a memorandum in neurosciences (neurology, epileptology, neurosurgery, oncopaediatrics), based on the dissemination of international expertise in the medical education, research and practice, through knowledge transfer and exchange of experience between specialists, organization of practical internships, academic and research mobilities, videoconferences and online meetings to discuss case studies, or online consultations.

"We are honored by the visit and thank the Ministry of Health for the opportunity to attend the meeting. We are sure that this cooperation will contribute to the improvement of the didactic, curative, research and methodological process in the neurology, neurosurgery, pediatric oncology, training the relevant departments, young specialists and researchers, for the benefit of the health of patients in the Republic of Moldova," rector Emil Ceban said.

The French doctors' visit was organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova on 8-10 July. It aims to develop cooperation in the neurosurgery, oncology and pediatric ophthalmology and to improve these services in our country, through exchange of experience and transfer of best practices among specialists.
