International Bank for Reconstruction and Development to provide €36.2 million loan to improve rehabilitation services

Chisinau, July 11 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will borrow 36.2 million euros from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development to invest in the medical system. MPs ratified today the loan agreement between Moldova and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development on Modernization and Improvement of Rehabilitation Services project.
The EUR 36.2 million loan will be used to improve the quality and accessibility of rehabilitation services for adults and children, and the authorities will focus on medical services provided at all levels of healthcare to patients who have suffered a stroke or heart attack.
Thus, departments with high-performance medical devices for this category of patients will be developed or modernized in public healthcare institutions. Part of the financial resources will also be earmarked for the prevention of these diseases.
The loan agreement between our country and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development on Modernization and Improvement of Rehabilitation Services project was signed in Chisinau on June 17, 2024.
