USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu" received book donation from "Iuliu Hațieganu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Romania

Chisinau, July 17 /MOLDPRES/- The book collection of the Scientific Medical Library of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy has been completed with 89 medical textbooks. The donation was offered by the Central Library "Valeriu Bologa" of "Iuliu Hațieganu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMF), Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and is worth about 12,500 lei.

A delegation of UMF "Iuliu Hațieganu" sent the books to the institution. The members of the delegation were: Cristina Ungur, head of the service, and librarians Ramona Nagy and Anca Marian. The librarians from across the Prut had a meeting with rector of the USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" Emil Ceban, Liubovi Karnaeva, director of the Scientific Medical Library, Olesea Dobrea, deputy head of the BȘM and Evelina Gherghelegiu, head of the Department of Foreign Relations and European Integration.

The rector pointed out the importance of the long-lasting partnership with UMF "Iuliu Hațieganu", being the first Romanian university with which a collaboration agreement was concluded in 2010. Emil Ceban noted that the partnership has been essential for the development of academic and research initiatives, strengthening the links between the institutions and excellence in education. "I am glad that our librarians have a beautiful cooperative relationship and we are grateful for the books donated over the years," said Ceban.

He voiced hope to deepen bilateral cooperation relations. On this occasion, the rector handed Cristina Ungur a Diploma of Gratitude for the significant contribution to supporting collaboration in areas such as: university library management, development of information resources, exchange of medical publications, interlibrary lending and electronic transfer of documents. These initiatives are important for providing the necessary resources for medical education, research and practice.

For her part, Cristina Ungur highlighted "the excellent relations with the Scientific Medical Library, established since 2016, and assured on continued collaboration, which also covers the donation of French-language books".

During the period 2019-2024, the Scientific Medical Library has received about 718 copies of publications, in the form of donation, from UMF "Iuliu Hațieganu" of Cluj-Napoca.
