Employees of diplomatic service to be able to work under service contracts

Chisinau, July 17 /MOLDPRES/- The regulatory framework on diplomatic service will be improved. A draft law has been approved by members of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Committee.

Under the document, the legislation will expressly stipulate that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the central state institution for the coordination and promotion of foreign policy. It will also establish the objective of the diplomatic service to coordinate the policy of international cooperation for development, as well as the competence to provide protocol and courtesy support to state institutions.

The implementation mechanism regarding the non-resident Ambassador status is to be determined by the Government.

Legislative amendments are also proposed referring to staff policy.
