Moldovan president discusses with Moldovans living in the United Kingdom

Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu is presently on a visit to the United Kingdom, where she participates in the summit of the European Political Community, hosted by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the presidential press service has reported.     

On 17 July evening, the head of state met Moldovan citizens living in the UK. ‘’I attentively discussed and talked with them about how we invest in the health and education, how we plant tens of hectares of forests, in order to reduce the impact of the climate changes, how we build electricity wires and how we make firm steps towards the capacity of European Union’s member,’’ Maia Sandu said.  

The Moldovan president appreciated the fact that the Diaspora Moldovans launched initiatives for children with special needs and carried out projects which get the Diaspora citizens closer to the country, as well as between them.  

„The focus of our discussions was the common wish to bring the Diaspora home and the determination to edify together a modern country, where each person has the chance to fulfill his/her potential fully,’’ the head of state also said.
