Moldovan parliament adopts draft law envisaging ensuring equal access of women and men to assets, services

Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - The provisions from the national legislation which regard he equal access for women and men to assets and services have been adjusted to the European Union’s legislation. The parliament adopted a draft law to this effect today.
The document provides for the extension of the principle of equality beyond the sphere of the labour market and professional life to other sectors. Thus, the legal framework will be improved in terms of combating the gender discrimination in the access and providing of assets and services, both in the public and in the private sector.
The adoption and implementation of this draft law will result in the exclusion of the direct or indirect discrimination between women and men as regards the prices, conditions of sale, access to products or services, financial, real estate or health services.
Also, the men and women will benefit from the same conditions and prices for products and services provided and the consumers will be protected from the gender discrimination.
