Moldovan president congratulates Ursula von der Leyen on reelection as European Commission's president

Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has congratulated Ursula von der Leyen, who today was reelected as President of the European Commission for a five-year mandate.
„In these difficult times, your leadership is vital for a stronger Europe. I am confident in our continuous cooperation and I am looking forward to getting closer to Moldova’s goal of accession to the European Union,’’ Maia Sandu stressed on a social network.
The European Parliament today voted for the proposal for Ursula von der Leyen to be president of the European Commission for another mandate of five years.
The official got 401 votes, following a secret vote procedure.
