New case of swindle through way of relative's involvement in traffic accident in Moldova: swindlers demand 15,000 euros

Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ - Policemen from the Botanica district of Chisinau have been notified about the committing of a new case of swindle through the way of relative’s involvement in traffic accident. The victim would have been called by an unknown person, who would have informed her that a relative had been involved in an accident and demanded 15,000 euros in order to get him rid of criminal liability.    

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), in a short time, a man came to the victims’ home, placed on the Grenoble Street of Chisinau and took the money. Yet, the man said they money was not enough and asked for another 5,000 euros.    

„The woman, who did not have this money, went to a friend on the Traian Street, to borrow this money. Her friend, yet, realized that it was about a swindle and called the Police. During the delivery of the second installment, the police detained two suspects,’’ IGP noted.     

Law-enforcers continue to investigate the case, in order to establish all circumstances.
