PM has meeting with United States charge d'affaires in Moldova

Chisinau, 19 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has had a meeting with Charge d’affaires of the United States in Moldova Nina Maria Fite. The discussions were focused on the consistent bilateral partnership at all levels and the vast agenda of cooperation with the USA, the government’s communication department reported.      

The officials highlighted the projects on Moldova’s modernization carried out with the support of the American side. The sides discussed possibilities of additional backing of the energy sector and of the process of Ukraine’s recovery. The interlocutors referred to the way Moldova manages the flow of refugees from Ukraine and how they are integrated in the education, medical systems and on the labour market.    

The officials agreed on boosting the bilateral cooperation as regards the cyber security, reducing the misinformation in the online environment and combating the propaganda, which intensified in the context of the forthcoming presidential elections and the referendum on the European integration. The prime minister voiced hope that the USA would participate in the Partnership Platform for Moldova, planned to take place in Chisinau in next September.     

Diplomat Nina Maria Fite will lead the American mission in Moldova till the confirmation of the new ambassador in office.
