Collections from salary tax increase by 21.4 per cent in Moldova in first half of 2024

Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - The collections from the salary tax increased by 21.4 per cent in the first six months of the 2024 year against the same period of the year before and amounted to 3.8 billion lei. The State Fiscal Service (SFS) unveiled figures to this effect today.
Also, the collections to the state social insurances budget increased by 16.8 per cent and are worth 12.3 billion lei. A similar situation is also in the case of the collections to the mandatory health insurances budget, which amount to 4 billion lei, up by 15.3 per cent against the same period of the previous year.
At the same time, SFS informed that, in the first half of this year, it had undertaken compliance measures through the light of fiscal visits. Decision-makers recorded an increase regarding the fiscal obligations calculated related to the salary payments of 121.3 million lei or by 31.76 per cent more against the same time interval of the 2023 year.
Also, the State Fiscal Service detected infringements of the legislation in the field of labour relations and adopted 128 decisions on the infringement of the legislation, including as concerns the infringements regarding the correctness of the calculation and payment of salaries, taxes and deductions related. As a result, obligations related to payments of salaries worth 37.1 million lei were additionally calculated to the budget.
As a result of the controls carried out, fiscal obligations related to the payments of salaries (except for penalties and fines imposed) worth 20.8 million lei were additionally calculated for the first six months of the 2024 year, which is by 14.5 million lei more against the same period of the year before.
