Moldovan environment minister says Constitution means also right to clean, sound environment

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Republic of Moldova today marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution – the country’s Fundamental Law. On this occasion, Environment Minister Sergiu Lazarencu has come up with a message, in which he reminds also the citizens’ rights to a sound environment.  

„The Day of the Republic of Moldova’s Constitution reminds us about the principal values and principles of our rule of law state. The Constitution guarantees also the freedoms of each us. We should not forget that it includes also the right to a sound environment, which we have the duty to protect,’’ the environment minister said.   

The minister urged ’’to work together for a better future, by respecting the democracy, justice and equality. Together, we can turn the country into a better place for all its citizens.’’   

The Republic of Moldova’s Constitution was adopted on 29 July 1994 and entered into force on 27 August of the same year. The fundamental law stipulates that the Republic of Moldova is sovereign, independent, unitary and indivisible state. The Constitution of Moldova is the document with the greatest regulatory authority in the public, political and social life of the country.
