Moldovan PM says ways should be found to back sport, performance as much as possible

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean started the today’s cabinet meeting with a congratulatory message conveyed to the sportspeople of Moldova who had managed to get medals at the Olympic Games, held in Paris, France. The PM said that it was necessary ‘’to find ways of backing the sport and the performance as much as possible.

„We should be happy with the performance of our sportspeople, especially of judokas Denis Vieru and Adil Osmanov, who have already brought us two bronze medals. This is an extraordinary performance for the team of judokas. We should celebrate also the participation of other sportspeople, wish them success. The earlier approved prizes of 3 million lei, 2.6 million lei and 2 million lei for sports performance will be provided. We should obviously take care also of the coaches and those who train the teams. Congratulations to the parents and coaches on these extraordinary performances. We should find ways, in order to support the sport and performance as much as possible. This is important, so that we enhance the national pride and these are nice projects which should ensure our social cohesion. Once again, congratulations to the sportspeople, their families, the coaches and training teams,’’ PM Dorin Recean said in the beginning of the cabinet meeting.     

Judoka Denis Vieru on 28 July won the first bronze medal for Moldova at the Paris Olympic Games. Judoka Adil Osmanov won the second medal, also bronze one, on 29 July.  

Both sportspeople will a state prize worth 2 million lei.
