Victims of political repressions to receive higher allocations in Moldova

Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ - The monthly state allocations provided to the victims of the political repressions will increase by 250 lei. The growth will be enforced starting from 1 January 2025. The parliament approved a decision to this end today.    

Thus, the sum allocated will increase from 1,000 to 1,250 lei or by about 25 per cent.  

The amendments regard the victims of the political repressions from the period of the years 1917-1990. Thus, 6,073 people are to benefit from allocations, according to data by the National Social Insurances House.  

The resources needed for the payment of allocations will be provided from the state budget. The authorities estimate that 18.2 million lei would be necessary.

The legislative initiative belongs to an MP of the parliamentary faction of the Action and Solidarity Party, Maria Pancu, and was worked out, in order to back the victims of the political repressions.  

The draft law is to be considered by the parliament in the second reading.
