GOVERNMENT BUILDS: Modernization works in sector of Drochia nearing completion

Chișinău, August 15 /MOLDPRES/- Revitalization of Valea Curechiului neighborhood in Drochia city is nearing completion as part of a project funded by the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. So far, two playgrounds and a sports complex covering an area of 3,500 square meters have been set up. Builders are currently completing the paving of two adjacent streets, and decorative trees are scheduled to be planted in the autumn when the weather is suitable for this.

By the end of this year, a project aimed at improving the standard of living in the Valea Curechiului revitalization area will be implemented in Drochia. It will be carried out by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), Drochia City Hall, and a local entrepreneur, with funding from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development.

According to the contract, the entrepreneur is committed to develop a park and adjacent territory in Drochia. "The urban revitalization works involve the development of a public space, modernization of urban infrastructure by carrying out street infrastructure measures and arrangement of two playgrounds and a sports complex on an area of at least 3500 sq.m.," the ADR North said.

Among the final beneficiaries of the project are about 4,500 residents living in Valea Curechiului, as well as other citizens of Drochia. ADR North director Maria Prisacari said that the contractor is executing the works under the contract in compliance with the technical project.

The value of the contract is about ten million lei (500 thousand euros), the contribution of Drochia City Hall is 10% of the contract value.
