GOVERNMENT EDIFIES: Rehabilitation of bridge across Bic river, overpass over railroad on M1 road continues in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ - The works continue on the construction site on the rehabilitation of a bridge across the Bic river and the overpass over the railroad on the M1 road, Stage II. 

This infrastructure project is a strategic one, which will significantly contribute to the easing of the traffic on the M1 road, reduce the traffic jams and enhance the road safety. We continue with the same determination to build and improve the road system of the country, in order to ensure the traffic in conditions of safety, comfort and fluency for all participants in the traffic,’’ the State Administration of Roads (ASD) said.   

According to ASD, the physical stage of implementation is presently as follows: bridge across the Bic river – over 50 per cent; overpass over the railroad – about 50 per cent; main road M1 – over 60 per cent; roads of access to the road knot – about 60 per cent; consolidation of the bed of the Bic river – about 40 per cent.  

The project’s value is of about 184 million lei (9.2 million euros) – money allocated from the financial means of the road fund. ‘’This infrastructure project of strategic importance will shorten the time of travel for the transport means which avoid the Moldovan capital, as well as for drivers who move to and fro from the neighbouring settlements and other suburbs,’’ the State Administration of Roads added.
