Moldovan president on Independence Day says Moldova our home, we choose future in peace, well-being

Chisinau, 28 August /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 27 August morning conveyed a congratulatory message to the country’s citizens on the occasion of the marking of the 33rd anniversary of the proclamation of Independence. ‘’Moldova is our home and we choose a future in peace and well-being. We write our history. Congratulations, Moldova!’’ Maia Sandu said.
„There is always the option to give up. The decisions which we take may keep us in place. We might have abandoned. The way we choose can be difficult. We might have cared less. We might have renounced and lost the courage. Each decision which we take keeps us in place or moves us forward. We are just what we choose day after day. We choose to stand up, no matter how difficult it would be. We choose to work for our future. We persevere for our children. We choose the hope and life. We trust the power of our nation,’’ is the message conveyed by Maia Sandu in a short video clip posted in the online environment. The video shows the people of Moldova, the country’s symbols and the values of the nation.

Moldova on 27 August marked the 33rd anniversary of the proclamation of its Independence, voted by the parliament on 27 August 1991. The event was celebrated nationally in all the country’s villages, towns and cities with the laying of flowers, exhibitions, sports competitions, concerts and commemorative actions.
