Chisinau, 3 September /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) today unveiled the weather forecast in Moldova for September 2024, which shows air temperatures above the normal.
Thus, following the analysis of the weather and climate conditions carried out by SHS, the following thermal and pluviometric regimes are forecast in Moldova for September: the average monthly air temperature is forecast to be above the normal (the norm being of +15-+17 Celsius degrees); the quantity of precipitation will be under the multiannual average levels (the norm being of 40-60 mm).
This week started with high air temperatures, which will be maintained in continuation.
„The drought is one of the strongest weather phenomena which is manifested in Moldova and especially in the country’s southern districts. We had periods when we have deficit of water in soil, which created big problems as regards the development of the agricultural crops. Or, the harvests, especially in the southern part of the country, confirmed this. In some cases, neither the irrigations represent a solution, as they cannot eliminate the soil drought, i.e. the lack of water in the depth of the soil,’’ specialists of the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry said.
