Moldovan deputy PM on working visit to Estonia

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is on a working visit to Tallinn, Estonia. She discussed with Estonian officials the steps which Moldova is to take in the pre-accession process, as well as the importance of the efficient combating of misinformation.
Cristina Gherasimov had a meeting with Estonia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Margus Tsahkna.
Also, the Moldovan deputy PM met the former president of Estonia during 2006-2016, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, the chef negotiator for Estonia’s accession to EU, Alar Streimann and the former foreign affairs minister, Rein Lang.
„Estonia is one of the best examples of integration into the EU area and of country’s accelerated development in this context. The visit was a good opportunity to learn more about the experience of aligning of the Baltic state with the EU standards, about the challenges through which the Tallinn authorities went and about the good practices which Moldova can take over from them,’’ Cristina Gherasimov said.
The diplomatic relations between Moldova and Estonia were established on 10 November 1992. So far, 27 bilateral agreements have been signed between the two states.
