One more judge failed to pass re-evaluation

Chisinau, Sep 13 /MOLDPRES/- Pre-Vetting Commission has finalized the re-evaluation of judge Alexei Panis, candidate for the position of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM). He did not pass the re-assessment as he does not meet the criteria of financial and ethical integrity.

According to the commission members, the decision was forwarded today to the candidate and CSM, the institution responsible for organizing the contest.

Judge Alexei Panis was heard in a public session during the evaluation resumed on April 16, 2024 and June 7, 2024.

Following the issuance of the Supreme Court of Justice decisions of August 1, 2023 and January 29, 2024 ordering the re-evaluation of 22 candidates for member of the Superior Council of Magistracy and the Superior Council of Prosecutors, so far, the Pre-Vetting Commission has completed the re-evaluation of 20 candidates. One candidate passed, 18 candidates failed to pass the re-assessment and in one case the Commission stopped the re-assessment process. The Commission is currently re-assessing two candidates for member of the CSM.
