As of today, farmers affected by drought in wheat and maize can apply for financial aid

Chisinau, Sep 13 /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry announces that as of today, September 13, 2024, farmers affected by drought in wheat and maize crops this year can submit applications for financial aid to the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA). The Government Decision, which provides for the allocation of financial means and approves the way of their distribution, was published today in the Official Journal.
Government has allocated 100 million lei from the Intervention Fund for the partial compensation of the damage caused by the severe drought and severe heat in 2024 to wheat and corn crops.
The financial aid will be granted if, according to the official records, the drought and heat affected at least 60% of the maize crop or 70% of the wheat crop.
To be eligible for financial support, farmers must meet certain criteria.
The application for financial aid must be submitted within 20 working days from the date of entry into force of the Government Decision.
