Electoral body receives acts on registration of candidate for Moldovan president, application on registration as participant in referendum

Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today received the documents and the subscription lists for the support of a candidate for the office of Moldova’s president and an application on the registration as participant in the republican constitutional referendum, due on 20 October 2024.   

The subscription lists were submitted by the initiative group for backing Vasile Tarlev, nominated by the Party for Moldova’s Future Political Party. Under the electoral legislation, CEC during seven days at the most, will verify the documents and the subscription lists submitted.  

The National Alternative Movement Political Party submitted the application on registration as participant in the republican constitutional referendum, with the ‘’YES’’ option.   

So far, CEC has registered nine political formations as participant in the republican constitutional referendum due on 20 October 2024.   

The political parties and the electoral blocs can submit the application on registration as participant in the republican constitutional referendum till 20 September 2024.
