Travel alert in Austria: authorities urge Moldovans facing crisis situations to contact embassy

Chisinau, Sep 16 /MOLDPRES/- The Moldovan Embassy in Austria informs Moldovan citizens who are in, transit through or intend to travel to Austria about the severe weather conditions forecast in the coming period. Torrential rain with strong wind are expected in the region.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Austrian authorities have issued weather warnings of heavy rain in the following areas: Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Vienna, Salzburg, northern Burgenland, northern Styria and northeastern Tyrol until September 17.

Significant rainfall could cause flooding and landslides, which could lead to flight delays or cancellations at affected airports, blockage of rail lines, damage to public utility networks.

In this context, the Embassy advises citizens to follow local information sources for weather updates and warnings. In case they need help or are facing crisis situation, Moldovan citizens can contact the staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Austria at +43 196 110 30 or +43 660 961 91 82.
